Guidelines for preparation of papers

We invite you to attend, and present a paper at, the International Power Conversion and Drive Conference (IPCDC), to be held on June 8th and 9th, 2011, in St. Petersburg.

The conference is organized by the Russian Electrotechnical Academy, the Russian Association of Manufacturers of Electronics and Electronic Devices, and the Information and Analytical Center of Modern Electronics, with support of the IEEE.

The co-chairmen of the program committee are Dr. Prof. Pavel A. Butyrin, President of the Russian Electrotechnical Academy and Head of the Theoretical Electricity Department of the Moscow Energy Institute and Dr. Prof. Milan M. Jovanovich, Vice President for Research & Development of Delta Power Electronics Laboratory.

The program committee includes three Russian and four foreign specialists, who have made a significant contribution to power electronics. At present the following specialists have confirmed their participation in the program committee:

  • Dr. Gourab Majumdar, Japan, Senior Chief Engineer, Power Device Works, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
  • Dr. Prof. Valery Meleshin, Moscow, Russia, Leading Researcher for “Electro SI” Ltd,
  • Prof. Francisco Azcondo, Spain, University of Cantabria,
  • Prof. Dragan Maksimovic, USA, University of Colorado.

The conference will have the following four sessions:

  • Digital Control – Modeling, Techniques, Applications;
  • Power Devices and Systems for Lighting;
  • Single-Phase and Multi-Phase Inverters, and Motor Drives;
  • DC-DC and AC-DC Converters, and Voltage Regulator Modules.

The conference schedule includes 24 paper presentations (12 per day, 6 in each session). In addition an exhibition of components, power modules, and power electronics equipment will be organized concurrently with the conference. A cultural program is also planned for the participants.

The official languages of the conference are Russian and English. There will be simultaneous translation during the presentations.

The paper proposals should include the title, the full name, degree, position, and place of employment of the author and co-authors, an abstract of maximum 50 words, and a digest not exceeding five pages. The proposals should be submitted as a single Word or RTF file.

The page number of the accepted papers is limited to eight. The paper should be made in accordance with the IEEE requirements for journal publications and conferences (a sample will be available on the conference website before March 15th, 2011).

Key dates of the conference:

  • February 28th, 2011 – submission deadline of paper proposals,
  • March 15th, 2011 – confirmation of acceptance,
  • March 31st, 2011 – submission deadline for the final paper,
  • April 30th, 2011 – registration deadline for authors,
  • May 31st, 2011 – registration deadline for conference attendees.
